CLUB ADVISOR
DEFINITION
Under direction, to assist in the planning, development, and implementation of the policies, regulations, guidelines, and procedures pertaining to a school site club and special project advisement. To serve as a resource concerning club and special project activities; and to do other related functions as directed. Travel as needed to support the purpose of the club.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This position classification requires expertise pertaining school club and special project activities. Directly related student activity experience is required to perform specialized service in sponsoring, monitoring and advising students participating in club and special activities. The club and special project activities must be pursued following prescribed principles, methods and concepts. This is a sedentary position classification that performs light work, but does require walking and standing for extended periods.
The job also requires the accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and objects, and providing oral information and instructional detail.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and participate in the school site club and special project programs.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate club and special activities in accordance with District policies, regulations and guidelines.
- Assist in the establishment of club and special project operational procedures, and in the election club and special project officers.
- Review, monitor and audit fund raising activities, and establish specific method by which funds are accounted for and controlled.
- Review, monitor and audit the publications and materials prepared for distribution by club and special project groups.
- Select or assist in the selection of materials, equipment and supplies used in the club and special project activities.
- Confer with, counsel, and advise site administrators concerning club and special project programs and activities.
- May make recommendations to revise, update, and incorporate creative and innovative trends into the District club and special project functions and activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
- Principles, goals, and objectives of public education;
- Methods, techniques, procedures, and strategies concerning the development and maintenance of an effective club and special project activity program;
- Policies, regulations, and procedures pertaining to clubs and special projects.
Ability to:
- Provide specialized resource support and coordination of a creative and innovative club;
- Participate in the evaluation of the District club and special project programs and activities;
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions with minimal accountability controls;
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form;
- Establish and maintain effective organization, community, and public relationships.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skill is qualifying.
In accordance with policy GBEC and procedure GBEC-R all new employees must submit to a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. Employee must consent to and provide the necessary documentation (fingerprinting, etc.) to allow for a criminal background check.
